Markham Rising Sun Campaign Fundraising Announcement

Markham, ON ~ December 6, 2011 ~ On April 6, 2011 Markham partnered with community organizations and businesses to raise funds in support of relief efforts for Japan following the devastating earthquake on March 11 and the subsequent tsunamis and aftershocks. Markham partnered with the Japanese Canadian Cultural Centre (JCCC), to raise funds for a dedicated disaster relief fund within the JCCC Foundation to aid the victims of the Tohoku Kanto earthquake in Japan.

Join Honourary Campaign Chair Mayor Frank Scarpitti, Campaign Chair David Tsubouchi, Co Chairs Councillors Alex Chiu and Colin Campbell, Council members and representatives from the Japanese Cultural Centre for this important fundraising announcement.

About the Japanese Canadian Cultural Centre Foundation

The Japanese Canadian Cultural Centre (JCCC) has created a special, dedicated disaster relief fund within its Foundation to aid the victims of the Tohoku Kanto earthquake in Japan. 100% of funds received in the Japan Earthquake Relief Fund will be directed to the relief and rebuilding effort required in Japan. In the first emergency response phase, funds are being directed to the Japanese Red Cross through the Canadian Red Cross. Find out more at <> .
